- Motion Analysis Software WINanalyze
- Development of a series of software packages to solve the automatic tracking of moving objects in a digital image sequence. By now WINanalyze is spread world-wide for applications like gait analysis, back injury analysis, crash test investigation, motion capture and much more. - Face Recognition
- Research activities in the field of face recognition. By use of the principles of the Synergetic Computer, promising results have been achieved for the recognition of human faces (see articles below). Currently, my work is concentrating on BioID, former SESAM of FhG-IIS. BioID is enhancing reliability by combining face recognition with speaker identification and lip movement analysis.

Detection
- Current research activities in the field of face detection, i. e. the localization of faces in arbitrary scenes. Focus on using model-based approaches like the Hausdorff-distance. I maintain the "Face Detection Homepage" to collect all useful information about the location of faces in images. Please visit this site and contribute your material!
